Our history
We are a family company founded 1948 by Mr. Eugène Fels.
- Early in the 1950, the company specializes in the electric contacts with competences in the field of metal's transformation and metal’s assembling.
- In the 1970, the activity diversifies with the addition of a new range of conductor system, own development and patented (trademarks registered).
- The years 1990 are outstanding with the company's development going further (turnover and investment) and with the ISO 9001 certification.
- From the year 2000 on, the company increases its growth with the creation of new products and with an external growing policy (Saumac, Saumac Distribution).
Our vision
We are an industrial company, specialised in the field of electrical contacts and mobile electrification systems, who cares about innovation and rising the quality level of our products and services within a partnership with our customers and FELS' actors.
Our activities
We are operating our activities of development, supply of raw materials, production and associated services in the field of contact materials, electrical contacts and mobile electrification.
Fels
Fels is a French Company located South of Strasbourg, where its facilities include Product Development and Marketing together with Fels/Saumac Support Unit.
Fels manufactures:
- électrical contacts:
- manufacturing includes cutting and machining operations (production of contact rivets),
- aassembly uses various techniques, including induction welding and torch brazing;
- electrical rails:
- Fels is the designer of the high reliability Electrical Rails Range Mobilis that has been used on many slide bridges all over the world for several decades,
- it offers 2 product ranges meeting a large array of customer needs (Elite, Movit).
Saumac
This French Company based in Seine-et-Marne District has technical expertise in the following areas:
- electrical contacts:
- manufacturing processes of cutting, machining and hammering,
- aassembly using various techniques, including furnace soldering and vacuum melting;
- méchanical:
- using advanced equipment and efficient assembly processes, Saumac is a leading prime contractor in mechanical manufacturing and subassembly.
Saumac Distribution
This Company based in Seine-et-Marne District (France) provides the following services:
- contact material engineering,
- precious metal procurement meeting the requirements of customer industries.
